As professional dog trainers, we provide a safe, thoughtful and fulfilling experience for your dog while boarding with us. We pride ourselves on tailoring each dog's experience to their individual needs. Rest assured, your dog's stay will be thoughtfully and intentionally planned from start to finish. Understanding and fulfilling your dog's individual physical and mental needs is top priority for us.
While boarding, your dog will partake in all the amenities of our structured day camp and adventure program during the day and a cozy, home-like environment to rest their heads at night.
No loud, overcrowded concrete kennels and "play yards" and no unsupervised nights alone.

While here with us for Day Camp your dog will spend their day safely socializing and adventuring with our pack all while practicing training skills like:
- Calm Coexistence
- The Place Command
- Leash Skills
- Basic Manners
- Respecting Thresholds (Doorways, gates, ect.)
- Obedience Skills
Plus, many more! We practice these skills both individually with your dog and as a pack. At the end of the day, we'd be happy to go over any skills your dog has been learning at camp that you'd like to continue to build on at home.

During the fall and winter months, our pack spends their days hiking and adventuring through the beautiful Southern California landscape. On average, we hike between 5 - 10 miles

During the fall and winter months, our pack spends their days hiking and adventuring through the beautiful Southern California landscape. On average, we hike between 5 - 10 miles per day with a pack of around 8 - 16 dogs at a time.
While joining us for Adventure Camp, your dog will be practicing training skills like:
- Recall
- Long Line skills
- Foundations for Off Leash hiking
- Trail etiquette
- Engagement with handler
- The Place Command
- Leash Skills
- Basic Manners
- Respecting Thresholds (Doorways, gates, van doors, etc.)
- Obedience Skills
All adventures are thoughtfully planned and structured for all dogs to be safe and successful. Only dogs that have completed our off-leash training program will be permitted to hike off leash. Boarding dogs will automatically be participating in Adventure Camp during their stay unless it is not in the best interest of your dog to do so.

How it works
To get a dog in for Boarding or Day Camp or Adventure Camp with us, we do require a few things first:
Vaccination Records-
All dogs that come to our Center must first email a copy of up-to-date vaccination records. The vaccinations we need are:
Bordetella, Rabies and Distemper.
As of May 1st, 2023, we also require a negative giardia test to be submitted for our records once a year.
**We do not accept puppies that have not had at least 2 sets of vaccinations.
Temperament Assessments- **Appointment Only Monday - Friday**
Since we do offer a pack like setting for our dogs, we do require all dogs to pass a basic temperament assessment. These assessments are free of charge and require the dog to be dropped off to us for several hours usually 2-5. During this time, we will be assessing your dog's behavior for signs of stress, being overwhelmed, not being able to share space or resources or just overall not enjoying their experience.
We take things very slowly during these assessments to ensure this is the right kind of environment for your dog. Dogs only for temperament assessments, doggie parents will be updated with pictures and videos throughout the process.
You will not be able to schedule a temperament assessment until we have received all of the vaccines and testing, we require first.
Healthy Dogs ONLY Please-
Here at Dog Lodge, we take the health and safety of all our pack members very seriously. Whether your dog is a current member or hoping to join our pack, please do not bring your dog to Day Camp or Boarding or temperament testing if they are currently being treated for or showing any symptoms of any communicable diseases or infections. This includes:
coughing or hacking, diarrhea, vomiting excessively, eye or skin infections, or open lesions or sores. We will be happy to have your dog back once they have been cleared by your vet.
Spay & Neuter-
This is not required but is highly encouraged for all dogs over 1 year old. Unaltered dogs may be required to sit out during certain times if it is what's best for them and the pack. Unaltered females WILL NOT be permitted while in heat or showing any sign of heat.
After we receive up to date vaccination records, we can proceed with scheduling a temperament assessment.
